OSI Systems Receives Approximately $11 Million in Orders for Cargo and Baggage Inspection Systems

HAWTHORNE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- OSI Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:OSIS), a vertically-integrated provider of specialized electronic products for critical applications in the Security and Healthcare industries, today announced that its security division, Rapiscan Systems, has been awarded contracts for approximately $11 million to provide state of the art parcel, cargo and vehicle inspection systems for international customers. Two of the platforms being delivered are the Rapiscan Eagle® P60 portal and Eagle M60 mobile X-ray inspection systems which will be utilized to scan for a comprehensive range of threats in cargo. In addition, the 638XR and 620DV series, our advanced checkpoint screening solutions for cargo and baggage, are also being provided to fulfill these orders.

The Eagle P60 achieves fast, accurate and efficient cargo screening by automatically scanning trucks as they drive through the system. Eagle portal scanners, like the Eagle P60, deliver high scanning throughput along with superior X-ray imaging quality, which enables inspectors to find contraband in cargo. The Eagle M60 is the most powerful cargo inspection system available in a mobile configuration capable of driving on public roads. With the Eagle M60, customers are able to quickly respond to operational requirements for cargo screening at locations, such as seaports, borders and checkpoints.

OSI Systems' CEO, Deepak Chopra, stated, "Our broad product offering allows us flexibility in configuring the most comprehensive solution to meet our customer's threat detection requirements. We look forward to these deployments which will increase our customers' operational effectiveness."
